OUR STORY
We saw what people could build around a brand.
Working on Boys Without Borders NG and Comic Con Ibadan, our founder saw young teams earn media coverage, grow organically and build relationships with thousands of people—with very little money to spend.

THE EXPERIENCE
People were talking about the organizations and bringing others in.
Publicity was part of the work. But what stayed with Theophilus was how people related to the brands. They mentioned them without being asked, advocated for them and kept them in mind when the issues they worked on came up.
He could see the time, resourcefulness and commitment that went into these projects. He could also see that describing the work as marketing or PR did not fully account for the relationships taking shape.
That experience was the beginning of his commitment to branding.
THE INQUIRY
He wanted to understand why those relationships formed.
That interest led him to pursue a master’s degree in communication at Clemson University.
He wanted to understand the roots of what those teams had been noticing as they built their brands. His subsequent research examined how nonprofit communication professionals understand and evaluate organizational visibility.
Alongside that research, his work with businesses and organizations involved brand identity, strategy, marketing and implementation. Practice and study gave him different ways to examine how an organization becomes known, understood and related to.
MISSIONWRIGHT TODAY
We work with organizations that want their brands to contribute to their missions.
Missionwright brings that commitment into a brand development practice for impact-first organizations and businesses. Our beginnings include nonprofit work; our purpose also includes businesses whose commercial success helps sustain their contribution to society.
We work with you to establish and solidify your brand: what it stands for, how people understand and experience it, and how it can help you achieve the gains your mission needs.
You may be building a brand for the first time, developing one that already has a following, or putting it to work through a website, campaign or another project. We begin with your organization and what you want to accomplish.
